Meet the Teacher Blogger Linky

I'm linking up with Falling Into First for Meet the Teacher Blogger so you can peek behind the curtain of Mrs. O and get to know the "real" me.

THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS...

Dresses. Cupcakes. Hanging out with my husband. My two fur babies. The color green. Musicals. The Red Sox. Travel. Music. Shopping. Reading. Yoga. Not sticking to a "few" ;-)

IF YOU WEREN'T A TEACHER, WHAT WOULD YOU WANT TO BE?

I'd love to be a music supervisor in T.V. or films. Basically, I want to choose the music that you hear in the background on movies and television shows. I have no background for this, but I love music, and I feel like I always know what would've been the perfect song for a part of a movie or show, so that's a start.

If that fell through, I'd love to be a publicist or a lobbyist for public education. I'm extremely social so both of these would work for me!

THREE LITTLE WORDS THAT DESCRIBE YOU:

determined, witty, loyal

FINISH THE SENTENCE, "________,  SAID NO TEACHER EVER!!"

"I'm all caught up"

Q: IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY AND YOU CAN INVITE ANYONE {DEAD OR ALIVE} TO THE PARTY. WHO ARE YOU INVITING?

I'd like for Stephen Colbert to attend because I like to be in the company of geniuses whenever possible and I am extremely fond of laughing. Speaking of geniuses and laughing, let's go ahead and send Anderson Cooper an invite.

On a serious note, I'd trade them both for one more birthday party with my grandmother.

Q: IF SOMEONE WROTE A BOOK ABOUT YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD BE THE TITLE?

I actually have a title, but a book about my crazy life is seriously in my life plans so I'm holding the title sacred. I promise I'll share when I'm published one day though!

Q: YOU GET TO PICK ONE SUPERPOWER. WHAT IS IT?

The power to time travel so I could always go back and see my loved ones.

Q: WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE QUOTE OR SAYING?
~ Arthur O'Shaughnessy, though I learned this quote from Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory :-)

Q: IF YOU HAD TO SING ONE SONG ON AMERICAN IDOL, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

"Who Will Save Your Soul" because if I'm going on American Idol, this is an imaginary world in which I can sing as well as Jewel, which means I will also be able to yodel, and seriously, how cool is that?

Q: ARE YOU A MORNING PERSON OR A NIGHT OWL?

Both, but I'm only a morning person if I get up and immediately move. During the summer it takes me about 3 hours to wake up. During the work week, I rise at 4:30 and am at the gym within 45 minutes of my alarm going off.

As far as being a night owl, midnight is usually my cut off. I don't know if that qualifies me as a night owl or not. In my college days 6 am was my cut off, but that was 15 years ago!

Q: WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE RESOURCE THAT YOU'VE CREATED IN YOUR TPT SHOP?

My Independent Reading Logs because I actually created them about 8 years ago. They have been through a lot of changes and I've used them with my students every step of the way! I never post anything that I haven't used myself, and this one has been used in my classroom the longest.

Q: SHARE SOMETHING WE MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT YOU!

I've got 4 college degrees and I'm only using one of them! I was intent on becoming a lawyer at one point in my life, and so I gathered two associate's degrees, one in criminal justice and the other a paralegal degree, as well as a political science bachelor's degree with a public law concentration. The 4th is my master's in education, the one that I am actually using! Perhaps I should've made indecisive one of my words to describe myself!

This was so much fun! You can head over to Falling into First to Meet other Teacher Bloggers that you are curious about!

  2. I always attribute that quote to Willy Wonka! It's also one of my favorites.

  3. GO Red Sox!!! 4 degrees! That's super impressive. I have often thought about getting my Master's, but I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to handle the work load!

    1. I don't know that I could've done it if I was already teaching! I was lucky enough to do it before I started teaching because I already had the bachelor's degree in something totally unrelated! LOL

  4. Wow!! I didn't realize you had all of those degrees! I also thought that quote was just from Willy Wonka. Oops! Cupcakes...yes. Next time I'm your way, we should meet up at that vegan cupcake place in the shopping center. They're yummy!!

    1. My favorite cupcake shop is Pearl's in Richmond. If you haven't been there, you MUST visit. They definitely have vegan options!
