I haven't had a lot of tough behaviors in the last 12 years, but I've also had my share. I do use Remind for communication all the time. The only online thing I see other than Remind and Bloomz is Dojo and I'm personally not a fan of that. I moved away from the clip chart because I didn't want behavior on display for all to see, and that is the same issue I have with Dojo. In 12 years and 6 schools, I've never been asked to communicate with parents about behavior daily unless a child was on a specific behavior plan. Nothing will be one size fits all because expectations, children, and parents are different from school to school. What I've shared is what I hope will work for me, based on my needs and climate, and hopefully others who are in a similar situation. I encourage all teachers to use what works for them based on the students in front of them and other challenges they face. I share my idea as one idea out of many, knowing fully well it won't be for everyone.

Thanks for your comment!Rachel Joannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09503039770940173303noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3600324424338377368.post-62222401353442371442017-08-07T09:02:08.983-04:002017-08-07T09:02:08.983-04:00Can I ask why you don't utilize an online beha...Can I ask why you don't utilize an online behavior system so parents are identified immediately?

I have taught for 14 yes, 12 of those years have been at a Title 1 campus where all students eat free breakfast & lunch. I have very few involved parents. If I sent home a monthly update, I would receive 10% back. Does your admin support monthly contact? Mine expects daily parent communication.

DFrideleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03817111776834367007noreply@blogger.com
