May Currently

It's time for my favorite monthly linky! I'm always so excited when I see that Farley from Oh' Boy 4th Grade has posted a new Currently. So now, let's find out what I'm up to on this second day of May!

Listening: I'm a total news junkie, so I've got to start my day with news. Actually, we're just waking up, so I would ordinarily be getting my news from cnn.com, but the hubby loves to watch TV first thing in the morning. If it were just me, the house would be silent for the first hour of the day.

Loving: It's a sunny and beautiful Saturday. We have a big Bazaar in town where I'm sure to find tons of crafts that I don't need and eat lots of yummy, yet unhealthy food truck food! After that, it's Derby Day! Though I had really hoped that this would be my first year at the Derby, we couldn't make it work, so I'll do what I've been doing my whole life, watch the Derby and cheer on my favorite horse from home. I have to watch all of the backstories before I can officially decide, but I've currently got my eye on Frosted.

Thinking: May has arrived! Testing starts in 15 school days and summer starts in 30 days. As much as I look forward to summer, the end of the year is always a little bittersweet for me too. It's so lovely to see how far my students have come. There is a big change in my students from the beginning of their fifth grade year to the end.

Wanting: Do you ever feel like you can actually be caught up on your TpT creations. I've got a list with at least 50 ideas on it. I'd need to TpT full time to keep up with it all! I'm always happy if I can just get one creation done a week.

Needing: I have an October trip planned and I haven't even begun to figure out our summer plans. I need to get a cat sitter, then start to think about where we are reading. I want to go to Boston or NYC, but I also haven't been home to upstate NY in awhile…oh, decisions, decisions!

Summer Yes, Hope, Dream: We're going to another Dave Matthews Concert. I believe this will be my 20th show, after seeing my first one in 1997! My husband and I have a goal of seeing all MLB parks in our lifetime, so this year we're hoping to see the Phillies and maybe one other park. A tropical vacation to Hawaii is in my dreams, but I'm not sure it's in my finances this year!

Now you can head over to the Oh' Boy 4th Grade to see what other bloggers are Currently up to!

Wishing you a wonderful month of May!

  1. Looks like the ladies are up early this morning! I am so sorry you have to go through testing. I have to say that I switched grades last year, so that this is the first spring that I will NOT have a huge week of standardized testing. Here in Ontario they only do the tests in third and sixth grade. I won't have to cover all my walls, put kids in rows, cancel all regular programs. It will be such a delight! I hope you not only survive testing, but you and your kiddos thrive! Have a great rest of the weekend!

  2. The TPT to do list NEVER ends. I stay home with my daughter and do TPT sorta full time but my list still grows and grows! Good luck getting some things crossed off that list!

  7. We start testing next week and will go "strong" for 4 weeks, so I'm a little jealous that y'all can wait an extra week to get it done. I love the idea of visiting all of the MLB stadiums! My brother-in-law is doing the same thing.
