September Currently

It's time to link up with Farley at Oh' Boy 4th Grade for the September currently!

The Red Sox game is on! My team is doing outstanding this season and well, I'm pretty happy! My husband who is a Yankees fan...well, he's a little less thrilled about how well the Red Sox are doing this season. But the rivalry marriage keeps it all interesting and I know we've got a rivalry weekend coming up that is sure to be interesting! Go Sox!

My new group of students are fantastic! They are full of energy, they like to participate, and they are having a great time with our getting to know you activities. I just know that we will have a wonderful year together!

I'm going interactive on everything this year. I know it's a lot to take on but I think I am ready. I can't find one resource that I love so I am working on creating my own for each subject. Hopefully they will lead to great success in the classroom and perhaps be worthy of a TpT sale when it is complete in June. I'm going to do everything I can to make it a great set. It's always a bit tricky when you are not a common core state, but I know I can make something that will be extremely useful for others!

I am so in love with long skirts lately. They are comfy, they cover my very white legs, and they come in cute designs. I want one for each day of the week so I am on the hunt for some new ones so that I can wear long skirts all the time. I'd also love to find ballet flats that are actually comfortable. No luck with that yet!

We've got company coming out a couple of times in the next year and all we have is a pull out bed. I think it's time that we traded that in for a real bed that our guests can sleep comfortably in.

I want to learn new recipes, especially something yummy for fall, perhaps with squash or pumpkin, with maybe a little cinnamon involved. I'd love to learn how to bake a perfect pumpkin pie or apple dumplings! Yum!

Waking up at 5am instead of 8am has been shocking to my system. Showing up at the gym has been a challenge but I am promising myself that I will be back on track by next week!

I've got to stay off of the computer. I can't allow myself to do work ALL NIGHT. Last year, my husband was in Afghanistan so it was easy to do work all the time. This year, I want to enjoy the time that I have with him at home. You never know how long your spouse is home for, and I want to be sure we get lots of quality time together each day because he's the greatest husband in the world...but I might be a tad biased!

  1. Hey there! I found you on Farley's September linky! I am glad that you love your new group of kiddos! I am learning to love mine, slowly, but surely!

I am absolutely in LOVE with maxi skirts! I need to purchase some more myself!

And I know exactly what you mean about spending too much time on the computer and not enough time with your husband. I am guilty of the same thing. In fact, at this very moment, he is gaming and I am laying on the couch blogging!

I am glad that I found your blog because I'm a fifth grade teacher as well! I will follow you!

  2. Hi! I found you through Farley's linky :) I taught 5th grade last year and loved it..now I'm in 3rd, and love it too.
I wholeheartedly agree about less computer time and more hubby time. I struggle with wanting to creating things for my TPT store, but also wanting to spend quality time with my hubby. Seeing it from your perspective makes it even more important :)

  3. My hubby complains that I like my bloggy friends more than him sometimes, so I need to get better about computer time as well. Can't wait to see what you're creating, and I'm glad you have a good group of kids this year!

    1. Thanks Kristin! That's a great idea! I recently discovered Very Jane and I've found a lot of great deals on there too. It's rather addicting!
