New Year's Resolutions

It's a New Year and why not start it with a New Year's Resolution via The Teacher's Cauldron and Teaching Maddeness Linky Parties?

I've certainly got some resolutions for the upcoming year but I've chosen one personal and one blogging resolution.

My New Year's Resolutions

Personal:
I want to be healthier. I am not overweight, but I am totally out of shape. I probably can't run a mile without getting winded. My excessive eating of anything with sugar surely can't be helping. Oh, and that dusty gym membership? Hmmm....I need to make some serious changes not for my weight, but for my health! Today was actually my first day in forever without candy. I opted for one skinny cow mint ice cream sandwich after dinner and because I made it to the gym today I came in under my calorie count too! Woohoo for working a way to a healthier me!

My Blogging Resolution: Work harder to get more followers by leaving comments and following more blogs. I spend most of my free days on my computer, looking at different blogs and pinning all of the wonderful ideas. I need to take the time to follow these amazing teachers and give them a shout out every now and then :-)

It will be a lonely New Year's for me, though I will stay up with my favorites, Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin to ring it in, but with the hubby still deployed I am saving big celebrations for his return!

Wishing you all a happy and healthy 2013 filled with success in all aspects of your life!

  1. Thanks for linking up! Your link led me to your blog and I'm your newest follower! Your gym/running goals sound just like mine! I definitely need to get toned! I was doing great by hitting them gym and a run this morning, but I'm pretty sure this box of Russell Stover is totally counteracting that! haha

    Happy New Year's Eve!!

    1. Thanks for following me!

I went to the gym today. I saw that the parking lot was almost bare and I thought that odd. It was only when I got to the door that I realized it was closed. I decided to go shopping instead, and then may or may not have stopped at Taco Bell on the way home, but I had them hold the cheese and sour cream. Somehow that justified it for me. Plus, it isn't January 1st yet ;-)

  2. Boo on spending New Year's Eve alone. Is your hubby Navy? And I'm completely with you on needing to be a little healthier. I was doing better until Christmas hit, but snacks have been working against me these past few weeks. It's time for me to buckle down again.

    1. He's Air Force...15 years in, so 5 left, but who's counting? ;-)

I actually spent most of the day in my classroom organizing and cleaning. Though I hate to admit I was in the classroom on a day off, it's an awesome feeling to know that I have all of my copies made for the week, and I will kick off the new year on the right foot!
